The squat is the foundational exercise for any legitimate strength training program.  This is also true of any golf strength training program.

Most people don’t include the squat in their routines because it is hard.

Many personal trainers will also not have their clients do squats because it is a technical lift and they don’t know how to teach it well.

However, if you want to get strong, it is a must do exercise, and the vast majority of people reading this can do it.

Below is a video I pulled from the Starting Strength Youtube channel that teaches the basics of how to perform the squat.

Similar to the golf swing, there are things you may get wrong.  I personally have struggled with this exercise, but I have continued to work at it due to its effectiveness.
